An easy scone recipe that can never flop with only three ingredients. I truly love having my scones with butter, jam, cheese and a dollop of fresh cream.
Ingredients
Plain flour for dusting
3 cups self raising flour
80 grams chilled cubed butter
1 to 1 and a 1/4 cups milk
Method
Preheat oven to 200 degree C.
Sift self raising flour into a bowl.
Add your cubed butter into the bowl rubbing it into the flour to resemble bread crumbs.
Make a well in center and add 1 cup of milk. Mixing with a flat knife until it forms a soft dough, if to dry add the 1/4 cup of milk.
Dust your kitchen surface with very little flour. Knead dough until smooth. Making sure not to over knead.
Roll dough out to 2 cm thick. Use the scone cutter to cut out the scones.
Place scones onto prepared baking pan 1 cm apart. Dusting the scones with some flour.
Bake for 20 minutes until golden and risen.
Enjoy with some butter, jam, cheese and fresh cream.
