Orange Lemon Grass And Soy Chicken Drumsticks


  • 2 freshly squeezed oranges
  • 4 thinly sliced orange
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest, divided
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 stalk chopped lemon grass
  • 2 whole garlic
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
  • 1 green chilli
  • 2 tbsp or less sambal oelek or any hot chilli sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chicken spice


  1. Wash your drumsticks, pat dry it amd make slits with the knife
  2. Season with chicken spice and pepper
  3. Add your chicken to a zip lock packet
  4. In a blender add in the rest of your marinate ingredients and blend for a minute. Except orange slices
  5. Add marinate to your chicken in zip lock bag and leave to marinate over night or for atleast two hours.
  6. Preheat oven on bake on 180 degrees C.
  7. Add your chicken into a baking casserole (you could add potatoes) and orange slices.
  8. Baked covered with foil until cooked through. When almost don’t remove foil and turn oven onto grill to let the chicken skin get a little charred for a few minutes.
  9. As the chicken cooks make sure to spoon the gravy/marinate over the chicken
  10. Once don’t remove garnish with freshly chopped coriander and enjoy.
  11. Note you can adjust the quantity of ingredients according to your liking.
