Lamb Burger Stuffed With Peppadews & Cream Cheese
A homemade burger is always tastier and juicer than any take out burger. A meaty juicy thick lamb burger stuffed with peppadews and cream cheese, basted with a BBQ sauce on top while it sizzled on the griddle with a slice of cheddar cheese to melt over. There is no added eggs or bread to the mixture so these patties get a 10 out of 10 for low carb lovers.
Lamb Burger Stuffed With Peppadews & Cream Cheese

Ingredients

Lamb Patty

  • 500g lamb mince or ostrich
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp jeera (cumin) powder
  • 1 and a 1/2 tsp dhania powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 crushed garlic
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp of chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chopped mint
  • 2 tsp chopped coriander

Stuffing

  • 1/2 a cup of plain cream cheese
  • 1 cup of grated mature cheddar
  • 4 peppadews chopped
  • 1 tsp chopped chives

Method

  1. Wash the mince thoroughly with a sieve, allowing it to drain.
  2. Add the ingredients for the patty (not the stuffing ingredients) making sure all the ingredients are well mixed into the mince.
  3. You can adjust the amounts of spice according to your taste, set the mince aside.
  4. Take all the stuffing ingredients and mix together.
  5. Take the mince mixture to shape into patties according to the size you prefer.
  6. Push a small gap in the middle of the patty and add a teaspoon or two of your filling, taking some of the mince mixture to cover up the stuffing making sure the patty is shaped and compact.
  7. Leave patties in the fridge for at least an hour before cooking.
  8. Add patties to a griddle and keep basting both sides with some BBQ sauce until done according to your satisfaction.
