Low Carb Chocolate Tea Cake
A simple moist guilt free decadent chocolate tea cake that’s low carb, sugar free and gluten free just for you to make in your own home.
Ingredients
Cake Ingredients
1 cup of xylitol / xylitol castor sugar
10 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 cups almond flour
2 Medium eggs at room temperature
1/2 cup soft butter
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1 cup milk or almond milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup dark chopped chocolate. I used Lindt.
Icing Ingredients
250 grams cream cheese (soft)
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup of xylitol powdered sugar (sifted)
Cocoa powder according to your liking
4 tablespoon fresh cream
Method
Cake
Preheat to oven 176 degrees C.
Spray a round 8” cake tray with spray and cook.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Make sure all lumps are broken.
Add butter, vanilla essence, milk and beaten eggs and whisk with an electric beater until smooth.
Fold in the chocolate pieces.
Empty the mixture into cake tin and bake for 25 minutes.
Once baked leave aside to cool while making your frosting as per below.
Icing
Add all the icing ingredients together until smooth.
You can add more fresh cream if the icing is to thick.
Once the cake has cooled, Ice the cake and enjoy.
