Sugar Filled Indian Mithai Sweet


  • 150g butter
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pistachio and almonds
  • 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch of saffron
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 1 condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • Desiccated coconut for rolling
  • Pistachios to top


  1. Heat your butter in a heavy bottom pot.
  2. Fry semolina and nuts lightly.
  3. Add your saffron mixing well. Remove from heat.
  4. Add rest of the ingredients and mix until all ingredients well combined.
  5. Roll into balls coat in coconut and top with pistachio. If you feel the mixture isn’t rolling well leave to cool for a few minutes or add in a little extra milk powder or coconut.
  6. Leave to set for 20 minutes.
  7. You can dust some coconut and pistachios once they all were set and rolled in coconut.
