Famous Spicy Scramble Eggs
Every region or country in this world loves their eggs and cooks it in their style, be it runny scrambled eggs or smooth scrambled eggs, there are so many types of them. After visiting Turkey and having their famous spicy scramble eggs known as “Menemen” I had to try it at home. it came out perfect.
Famous Spicy Scramble Eggs


  • olive oil
  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes
  • Optional: Sliced chilli if you like hot food
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • ½ red pepper, diced (about a half cup)
  • 1 tomato seeded and diced
  • ¼ teaspoon smoky paprika, more or less
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin, more or less
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • chopped parsley for garnish


  1. Heat some olive oil and of red chilli flakes in the bottom of a large skillet.
  2. Sauté the onions and peppers until softened, add the tomatoes, cumin, paprika, Chilli, salt and pepper.
  3. When the vegetables are cooked the way, you like them and most of the liquid is cooked away, crack the eggs directly into the pan.
  4. Immediately break the yolks and scramble the eggs gently with the veggies.
  5. The menemen is ready when the eggs are softly set. Garnish with the chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon which is optional.
