The most perfect naan to have with a smear of butter and a hot cup of tea or perfect with a spicy kalya or a hot haleem. This bread is so quick and easy to make you will definitely stop buying this from any bakery.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
6 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 sachet yeast
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp fennel seeds
Wet Ingredients
2 eggs
2 tbsp ghee or butter
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups warm milk
1 1/2 cups warm water
Topping Ingredients
Sesame seeds or poppy seeds to sprinkle and a beaten egg to brush the naan.
Method
Add dry ingredients in a bowl
Whisk wet ingredients together.
Slowly add your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients whisking with your dough hook until a soft dough is formed. You can add extra flour if needed to form a soft dough (i added about a extra two cups).
Once you have a soft dough add it inside a clean bowl. Cover and allow to rise double in size. I normally leave my dough next to the dryer while it’s on and it rises much faster.
Knock down the dough, divide (sizes according to your liking) and shape into round naan.
Cover and allow to rise.
Brush naan with egg and sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 till golden brown and cooked through.
