I had some left over butter puff pastry from this morning and I normally don’t refreeze my pastry again so I decided to make some round pastry. During the Covid-19 pandemic you got to find ways of using any type of left over ingredients.
Ingredients
Butter puff pastry
Melted chocolate
Chopped walnuts and pecans
Egg
Icing sugar
Melted butter
Cinnamon
Brown sugar
Method
I decided to make some round pastry fill them with melted chocolate and chopped walnuts and pecan brushed with egg baked till golden brown dusted with icing sugar.
With the left over pastry, I doubled by folding over, brushed with egg and baked till golden brown, While still hot I dipped them in melted butter, cinnamon and brown sugar, these tasted like crispy churros filled with butter, with that I dusted some cinnamon sugar.
